Back in 2009 I surprised my Mum with a ‘trip of a lifetime’ to Borneo because I knew she dreamt of seeing the Orang-Utans
Borneo is the worlds third largest island with so much to see and offer, from the majestic Mount Kinabalu, lush green rainforests of Sandakan home to the Wild Men of Borneo-Orang-Utan, the Iban tribes people deep in the jungle, to the unspoilt beaches.

Looking for adventure? why not try white water rafting, I don’t think I have ever laughed so much when seeing the look on my Mums face when I told her what we were doing and certainly took her out of her ‘comfort zone’.
If not doing a tour, a must is to do the day trip to see the Wild Men of Borneo in the Sabah, its a full day tour where you get to visit the Sepilok Orang-Utan rehabilitation centre.
When we visited we added on a 4 night stay in Hong Kong on-route, which was spectacular and another city ticked off the bucket list and it broke down the journey time too!
Being able to observe the orphaned baby Orang-Utans and felt honoured to witness them so close up, this was mind blowing and definitely a memory maker.
Borneo has a tropical climate where temperatures and humidity are high. March to October in my opinion the best months to travel, as November to February can bring more rain. However, rainforest areas can be unpredictable so rain can occur at any time, even if just for a short sharp downpour.
Borneo is approximately 16 hours via Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong or the Middle East from the UK. However, you can choose to do either a quick touchdown, stretch of the legs and change of plane, or stay for a few nights to add a little extra to your adventure in one of these amazing cities – but we can customise your trip to suit your personal preferences.
