Follow in Our Creative Travel Director's footsteps

In 2018 I attended a travel agent academy in Brazil where we learnt all about South America, met with suppliers and visited some of the must see sights in Rio de Janeiro! It really was an amazing trip but I only got a see a small amount of what this amazing destination has to offer… from the Amazon, a huge area of rainforest that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to Peruvian, Colombian and Bolivian Borders to the impressive Iguassu Falls a series of waterfalls on the borders between Argentina, Brazil & Paraguay to the wildlife haven of the Pantanal and the vibrant Rio!

My Recommendations

  • The famous Copacabana Beach – take a stroll along the beautiful beach, watch the locals playing football and shop at the local stalls.
  • Sugar Loaf – take a ride in the glass walled cable car you get some amazing views from the top.
  • Christ the Redeemer – deemed as one of the worlds seven wonders it’s a must visit
  • Iguassu Falls – stay at one of the 2 hotels that are located inside the National park with falls views!
  • Rio Carnival – if your visiting when the festival is on enjoy the parades, parties and open air performances.

What I Loved Most

Where to stay when in Rio… Ipanema Beach is a lovely area with nice bars and restaurants, of course well known copacabana beach or Santa Teresa famous for its winding narrow streets, quirky boutiques and art.

Cable cars over the green mountains of Brazil with the sea in the distance.

Best Time To Travel

Depends on the area your visiting but generally October – April is the best time to visit however for Pantanal it’s April – October!
  • The currency is the Real
  • Language spoken is Portuguese
Enjoying the cafe location in brazil, overlooking the ocean.

How to get there?

Flights to Rio de Janerio take around 11 hours and you can get a direct flight from London Heathrow with British Airways, a number of other airlines will fly indirect like I Iberia, KLM, Air France etc.
