South Africa – by Ronnie Phillips

Written by Joan Jones on September 25, 2023

South Africa

In February I went to South Africa with my mum, my sister Gracie, my Nana and Grandad, and my Aunty Dawn and her boyfriend Dominic.

We had to fly on two aeroplanes to get there. The first plane took 11 hours then the next one took 3. We stayed in a house that my Nana and Grandad rented for us. It was very near the beach.

What we did

On my second day we saw dolphins swimming in the sea. Then we saw them again the next day and we ran to the beach to try and catch up with them.

We went to a monkey sanctuary and saw lots of monkeys that we could get close to. We went to an elephant sanctuary also where we could feed the elephants and touch them. We saw a shark in the sea, I was very scared.

My favourite part

My favourite part of the holiday was when we did a boat trip on mummy’s birthday and we saw lots of dolphins and seals.

The food was yummy, I ate a lot of chips and burgers. It was very hot there.
