California as a destination is often overlooked in favour of Florida but it really shouldn’t be as there is so much to see & do in the the Golden State!

• Plan where you want to go & what you want to see before you leave.
• Hire a car or RV ,a fly drive tour will give you a planned route and your hotels are booked to make the most of your stay
• It’s a great destination to take the kids, even if you just stay in LA! Los Angeles is home to the original Disneyland and Universal Studios is actually where many of the movies were filmed plus beaches and other theme parks, they love it!
• Star spotting, you never know who you might see ,if not ,go on a coach tour around the celebrity homes of Beverly Hills
• The Hollywood sign,Venice Beach & the walk of fame are disappointing
• There are lots of 2 centres that you might want to consider, Las Vegas & the Canyonlands, Hawaii, New York, route66 or with a cruise are a few of the options or just spend your whole holiday exploring this varied and large state.

• Seeing the iconic sights that you have seen in the movies
• The perfect temperature
• The varied scenery, from desert to forests or mountains to beaches,every day can be different
• The delicious food and Californian wines,

I would say the Summer months are the best time, as it’s lovely and warm but if you want to incorporate a few days skiing then the winter temperature will still be around 18 degrees, apart from areas like Mammoth Mountain ,so it’s still great for exploring if you are not bothered about hot weather.

Direct flights are available to Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego or do what I did and fly to Las Vegas and take a road trip through Death Valley to California, a great experience!
