When you think of Orlando everyone always associates it with Walt Disney World, Florida! I often get called the Disney queen by my colleagues as I’m slightly obsessed!! I’ve been lucky enough to visit Disney and Universal on a number of occasions.. but there is so much more in Orlando… from the Shopping, Dining, Theme Parks, Attraction’s, Shows the list is endless my top tip would be to split your stays wether it’s a stay at Disney, International Drive or in a Villa add on a night or two at Universal to take advantage of those extra perks and if at all possible take a drive to the coast and finish your holiday with a few days at the beach so you don’t go home shattered!!

My Recommendations

  • Plan!!! There are so many ticket combinations and ticket prices rise each year that you really need to plan your days and purchase tickets to suit your plans to help save money..
  • Downtime!!! Walking for miles in the heat kids (and adults) get tired and grumpy so don’t try and do too much! Have a chilled out morning around a pool and then go into the parks on an evening and watch the shows and take on a few rides.
  • The Memory Maker at Disney is fantastic make sure you make the most of it and look out for the photographers around the parks and don’t forget to ask for a magic shot! Universal also do a Photopass and if like me you love you photos they are great value for money.
  • Do you have a princess or prince? Book into Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom. Available to children aged 3-12 years they can select a package to suit your budget… you will need to book in advance this used to be at 180 days but since Covid it’s now 60 days in advance but this could change.
  • Everything in Orlando doesn’t cost a fortune – if you like your cars take yourself to Old Town on a Friday and Saturday night where you will see vintage, high performance, hot rods and more plus live music and entry is FREE!!
  • If visiting Clearwater make sure to book onto the sea screamer this exciting family speed boat trip takes you along the gulf coast with music playing and dolphins jumping behind you!
There is so much information to talk about when planning your once in a lifetime holiday to Disney & Universal I’m happy to arrange a meeting to discuss all options and offer some suggestions and advise…

What I Loved Most

The Beaches are amazing so try and spend a few nights at one! My personal favourite is at Anna Maria Island.

Best Time To Travel

It’s an all year round destination with warm weather all year round however they do have high rainfall from the mid June, July & August when it’s very hot! These tend to be quick downpours like someone has turned a tap on but they dry up very quickly and the weather is that random that it could be raining on Magic Kingdom but sunny at Epcot!

How to get there?

There are a number of airlines that fly to Florida, it would depend which area you were staying in to where is best to arrive.. when visiting Walt Disney World the majority of people arrive into Orlando International.. you can fly direct from Heathrow, Manchester or Gatwick and indirect from many regional departure points.
